Hi, my name is Kenny. I'm not going to do the traditional "write-about-yourself-in-third-person-to -make-yourself-sound-professional". Honestly, I was until I realized how lame that would be. All that I want to say about myself and to everyone who may stumble in on this site or maybe even see me performing somewhere is that I try to keep myself as grounded as possible. Everything I sing or play or write is not coming at you with some sort of alterior motive. I didn't calculate any of my music to reach any one demographic. This stuff comes straight out of my heart and head and hopefully, you can all feel it.

Hope to meet you soon!

Kenny
Why this name?
Um...it's my name?
Do you play live?
I play where people will have me. I love the heart pounding moments between the time you walk out on stage and right before you play or sing your first note. It's in that time that I really have to say to myself, "Don't suck, or I'll kill you."
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Wow. I don't think many people like myself would have dreams of being musicians without the internet or free mp3s. Sites like this one really level the playing field for us little people who are trying to make it.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would love to. And hopefully, it will happen. But in no way would I allow myself to be dictated to by talking heads, especially in terms of my music and image.
Band History:
I don't really have a history. I started playing guitar at age 17 and have taken a liking....ok...obsession to it. I've been in a couple bands, played some fairly large gigs and some tiny ones but what it comes down to is that I'm so selfish that I want all the glory for myself! Just kidding! Really, it's hard being in a band, especially when you've got so many ideas for stuff that only you understand. So, although I still play in bands occassionally, they are just guest spots or special appearances for friends that need some extra guitar or vocal muscle.
Your influences?
I'm not going to answer this question for fear that I might be labeled a copycat or cheap rip off. What you hear is me.
Equipment used:
I have a Taylor 25th Anniversary 310-CE acoustic that I do most of my work on. In full band situations I have a Fender Super Strat and a Fender SRV Signature Strat that I use. Effects-wise, I just borrow pedals and amps from people who will let me.
Anything else...?
I'm not exactly sure how often I will update this site in particular, but I do have a MySpace.com site that I am addicted to. That can be found at www.myspace.com/kennyeng. Feel free to check it out!
