kenny&thoughts
& about me
kenny&thoughts is not a band, it's just me. I'm a 25-year-old guy from the Netherlands, using this page to expose some of my musical creations to a somewhat broader audience than the contents of my livingroom...
I spend my spare time playing the piano and the guitars, doing some singing, and toying around with music software. Every now and then this results in a new song.
& about my music
I try to focus on the sound, general composition, experiment and most of all capturing emotion/mood. I aim to use dry-recorded first-take instrument tracks only (except for the vocals as I need more takes to get things a bit in-tune and articulated), and use the tracks as a sort of very long samples to cut, reposition from its originally meant place and add automated digital effects to.
I think I'm not very much bound to a specific genre, although I'm afraid I'll never really escape the influences from the music I like to listen to. However, every time I try to put my music on the internet, I have to select what genre to put my music in. On Soundclick, I chose IDM, as it's a fairly broad (/abused) electronic genre, but it still doesn't match my music at all, I think. So please, if anyone can suggest a better genre my music will fit, do so! Furthermore, any comments on my songs are very appreciated, either positive or negative.

Why this name?
My name is not Kenny. I chose the name kenny&thoughts just to put an accent on the fact that all music usually is some guy(/girl) laying hands on an instrument, singing, whatever, to express emotions and thoughts. In this primary aspect, the name is not relevant; the process is, and the result might be.
Do you play live?
No. Maybe someday, when I figure out how to perform these songs live in an interesting way.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Actually, I don't care.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
No
