Im a dance music producer born and living in Middlesbrough. Although im not professional I have a passion for making dance and house mucic and I do hope, through the use of the internet, that I can get recognised for what i do and get a positive response.
Why this name?
Basically, I feel if i just use my name, people would start to know who i am and associate me with the kind of music i produce.
Do you play live?
As i only produce dance music, there is no live element to it. I have done some DJing once or twice but thats about it.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Because of the kind of access most of the worlds population has to the internet, it gives artists opportunities to show people what they can do. On the other hand, it can create a crowded feel with too many people being able to do this. Also, with illegally sharing music, the industry is losing a lot of revenue which can only damage musicians.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course. This would be my ultimate aim for the future. But at the moment i feel i need to improve my productions somewhat.
Band History:
As an individual, I had always had a passion for dance music. Whilst at secondry school, at the age of 13, i was introduced to making music using computers and software such as early versions of Cubase. I decided to take this up whilst at school at GCSE level and i got addicted to it. Also, my music teacher at that time told me i had a big talent for someone of my age. I got an A* for my GCSE work but didnt study it straight after school. In fact it wasnt until i was around 19 when i got talkin to an old friend from school that i took another intrest in it. This time with Fruityloops. All the tracks i have made have been made using that program. But again i lost intrest. But now i have got the feeling i need to take u stronger look at music production and be a lot more serious about it.
Your influences?
The usual dance music producers such as Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, Ferry Corsten, etc.
Favorite spot?
My home town of Middlesbrough.
Equipment used:
Computer programs such as Cubase, Fruityloops, and hardware such as MIDI keyboards. Relativly quite basic.
