MP3s serve as an excellent medium for promoting locally known acts such as Blackman to the world.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We (The DNA crew and the producer) are willing to sign a contract with a major label as long as it is fair and flexible.
Band History:
Blackman a.k.a. John Cash , has been writing rhymes since 1998 and rockin mics since 2002. Growing up as a hip-hop kid in Poughkeepsie (Po-town), New York Blackman spent his childhood listening to Biggie and Nas and crafted his vocal style in the image of these rap icons. As a teen, Blackman was in several local rap groups and decided that being a rapper was the only career path for him. Sadly, his youthful dreams were interrupted when he got caught up in a different path that landed him in juvi for a few years. Instead of sitting idle, Blackman used the time in which he was caged up to develop a writing style, study the music industry, and further advance his verbal skills.
Blackman sets the precedence for excellence with his agressive but catchy rhyme style, exceptionally clear delivery, and commanding presence on the mic as well as on stage. Currently he is working on his second album "Die Slow" with his fellow beat maker Demented Hills. Blackman started working with Demented Hills on his previous album, "The Cat in the Hat" which was his first studio produced recording.
