1st try scratch composition
Hi! I'm DJ Ketch Fraze. I've been scratching for over two years now. I'm looking for other dj's to scratch and make compositions with me. e-mail me if you have any questions or comments. also i'm on aim: adioskater99 or djketchfraze(rarely on that one though).
Why this name?
um, well first it was c-note, but that was taken so i though catch phrase was cool so i just changed the spelling like everybody else does.
Do you play live?
i do parties sometimes. i've never done a just scratching show. just for friends. yeah, it's not hard. um, when i did my first party i was real nervous but after awhile it just went away and i've been comfortable with it ever since.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
um, it lets people experience more types of music and also lets them try out different music before buying or by being able to get it for free. but on the other hand getting it for free takes away from the profit of the groups and the industry itself.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
i would if they didn't jerk me around and want to change all my stuff. but that's not likely. so i'd probably be more apt to go indie.
Band History:
there's not much history. i got my turntables over 2 years ago and just practiced the all the time.
Your influences?
hip hop in general and every form of music really. i say every kind because turntablism can use any record as part of a composition.
Favorite spot?
columbus ohio is alright, but i really like nyc because of the diversity.
Equipment used:
turntables: two technics M5Gs.
mixer: rane TTM-56.
cartridges/needles: shure M-447.
Computer: hopefully an apple G5 with reason & live soon.
