Why this name?
...because this is where the fish lives.
Do you play live?
Not at the moment, but we suspect the only places that will book us are pseudo-arty little coffeehouses.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It definately opens people up to stuff they probably wouldn't have heard before.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I doubt any of them would have us.
Band History:
This Is Where The Fish Lives began with three dweebs on a gold couch watching MST3K. Then one of them got a bass flute. Then another got an electric viola. Then a third threatened to get a theremin. Seeing as the Viola has been threatening to start a religion around Colombus, Ohio's Evolution Control Committee, the Viola and the Theremin decided that whatever musical project comes of this must include sound collage. The outcome is destined to be stupid and art-faggy and "avantgarde" and will probably be quickly forgotten about, but it's fun and that's why it exists.
Your influences?
Evolution Control Committee, John Cale/Velvet Underground, Nitzer Ebb, Clara Rockmore, the Amino Acids, Oscar Wilde, Lemon Kittens, the Church of the Subgenius, Brian Eno/Roxy Music, Abbie Hoffman, DEVO, Kraftwerk, the Tape Beatles, Paul Reubens, Virgin Prunes (their arty stuff, not that dancefloor Goth bullshit "Baby Turns Blue"), Front 242, John Waters movies, living in Ann Arbor, Ray Manzarek is God and he should join our stupid band
