Brendan James is a standout entertainer whose irresistible charm and charisma lends life to the ability to entertain from the moment he appears on stage. Brendan’s performances are truly of world-class quality.
Some of the highlights of Brendan’s career include an outstanding performance alongside Hugh Jackman as part of the 2004 “Red Ball” at Melbourne’s Crown Casino. Brendan was flown to Hong Kong to perform for Lachlan Murdoch and Company at the 2004 “Star TV” Christmas function at the Hotel International in Kowloon. Brendan also spent a successful two-year stint in 2000 with the cast of “125th Street”, performed at the West End Stage in London, England.
Brendan has featured as a lead vocalist with the recently formed “B# Big Band”. He has formed a strong alliance with several key members of The Melbourne Symphony Orchestra, and in turn has performed at numerous prestigious events as part of a busy corporate and charity gala event calendar.
Clients have included Transurban, RVIB and Star TV.
Brendan’s singing ability was apparent from an early age. Brendan is a born entertainer. He was the lead chorister with both The Victorian Children’s Choir and The Australian Boys Choir. Brendan attended Brighton Grammar and held numerous roles in musicals, performed with the school’s premier musicians, directors and orchestra, and was the lead in the school choir. Brendan has spent time with the RMIT University Choir and, in turn, performed in numerous concerts and staged productions. During this time he also hosted, co-ordinated and played for many prestigious gala functions for the local community where he resided.
In 2000 Brendan moved to London, England, to pursue his goal of establishing himself as a world-class entertainer. Whilst performing in various showcases, floor shows, tribute acts and jazz festivals Brendan discovered his flair for both musical theatre and jazz. A major break came when Brendan was asked to play an integral role in the new West End Musical “Theatre of Dreams”, the story of a Manchester Football Club and the life and times of Sir Matt Busby.
As Brendan is only 25 years old, his future still lies ahead of him. His mesmerising singing ability captivates audiences and hints of experience well beyond his years. Expectations are of greater things yet to come. The rest is history.

Why this name?
it was a simple choice, something that people would remember.
Do you play live?
all my shows are live, it's always great to interact with the audience and i love using plenty of improvisation during a performance. it was a wonderful experience to perform live on the West End Stage in London.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
i think it's a great way to reach your desired audience, also a most efficient way to allow people to see and hear what you do on stage at the touch of a button.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
i'm open to that, but not right now - i'm looking to further my exposure on a live and local level at this stage, but always will jump at the chance to get into a studio and put some tracks down.
Your influences?
i have a great appreciation of many entertainers both past and present....they all bring something to the table. Frank Sinatra, Tom Jones, John Farnham, Elvis, and Hugh Jackman are standouts for their collective combination of passion, vocal ability , and charisma.
Favorite spot?
there really is no place like Melbourne.
Equipment used:
normally i perform with a standard vocal p.a along with minidisc orchestral backing but depending on the function i also have access to a live band also.
Anything else...?
thankyou very much for taking the time to listen to my music, and i hope to catch up with you soon.... somewhere in the wide world of entertainment. Cheers!
