Wesley Bowers has been involved with music ever since he can remember and has been creating music for almost as long. First off, he comes from a musical family. His father, Elledge, was a drummer and his mother, AlveAnn, a singer. His brothers play a variety of instruments and then there’s Wesley . . . he composes. With keen insight and a practiced ear he’s able to weave an array of rhythms and non-traditional melodies into the sounds of Generation Next. These thread their way through his electronic compositions and that are the work of AQUAvine. Whimsical, creative and edgy, his album, Hail AQUAvine, is an eclectic montage with a great depth of musical expression. Hail AQUAvine has something for everyone and then some.
Wesley is a natural at composing music and creating arrangements of all types. His electronic compositions and arrangements span a seemingly infinite variety of styles and approaches ranging from pop to techno. If you spend any time with him you’ll soon hear him popping and tapping out the latest rhythms of some new song that has entered his head. At any given moment he may begin to hum melodic fragments as he works out the details before bringing them to life on his computer console.
His keyboard controlled by a computer sequencer is his chosen instrument. Essentially a computer enhanced keyboard is what you make it. Once the electronic element is added, our ideas of traditional music begin to disappear and the way in which we write and perform music completely changes. Each composition is arranged by the sequencer which tells the keyboard how to play the composition. It tells each note or sequence of notes when to play and how long the sound continues. In actuality, it’s a little more complicated than that since the sequencer cues each note’s: attack, sustain, and delay. In the end, the need for a traditional instrument entirely disappears and a new group takes the stage.
While you may not find Wesley on a major label yet, he’s making a breakthrough on the internet and his work has been showcased on AMP.az. He’s receiving internet airplay on: RadioArizona.net, QNation.fm, and other locations; he is definitely someone to keep an eye on.
Wesley has been the only 'member' of AQUAvine. He is a solo artist and has been in the music industry for several years.
