Eudoxia Vervain is a musical project born from the artist's dream of reaching out to people through music. It's been said to be different, psychotic, strange, weird, and creative. But above all, it is honest and sincere music from a passionate soul.
Why this name?
I've always had the name Eudoxia. It's the name of one of Anne Rice's vampires. Eventually, I added Vervain because I didn't want my artist name to coincide with other bands named Eudoxia. Also referred to as Juno's Tears/Herb of the Cross/Enchanter's Plant/Herb of Grace, Vervain is an enchanted herb used by the Druids.
I like to think that the combination "Eudoxia Vervain" means something. Eudoxia Vervain, EV, or EVE may be taken as a dark creature (given how dark the songs tend to be) who captures people's senses with enchanting music.

Do you play live?
Yes. I live for live performances! I usually get to play out there when I'm invited for a gig, which doesn't happen too often. So Eudoxia Vervain in the open is a rather rare experience.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet has done a lot and it has certainly brought different music to a lot of different people.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, so long as I am agreeable to the terms.
Band History:
As a solo female artist, Libby has gone through a whole lot of musical experiences. She started writing songs and performing them to herself when she was 13.
She was a classical musician so the whole field was new to her. She picked up her brother's classical guitar and used it as an acoustic guitar then taught herself how to strum chords and pluck some notes. Out of that, she created a rich collection of originals, occasionally using flute, recorder, piano, and percussion along with the guitar. And sometimes, she'd do away with the guitar and create songs with piano. She wrote mostly about her personal experiences.
When she was around 15, she recorded demo tapes and gave them to friends. They liked her music and were really encouraging so she kept on making songs. Then a point came where she decided she needed to concentrate on only one principal instrument. It was between the guitar and the piano. She didn't want to decide on her own so she asked her friends. Their answer was piano.
That gave birth to Eudoxia and eventually, Eudoxia Vervain.
It can be said she was an experimental artist before becoming Eudoxia. She was trying different things and going through different phases. But when she settled down with the piano, she found herself creating weird, spooky, and haunting riffs. As a result, it crossed her mind that she might just be best off as some sort of a dark artist. And it helped that she somehow had a haunting voice.
Her music is raw, honest, and sincere and with each song, there is a message that she wants to come across to the listener. That is why she wants to be heard by so many people! So she is most definitely hoping, even against odds, that one day she finally gets that very chance.

Your influences?
The feminine music of these great pianist/singer/songwriters: Tori Amos, Chantal Kreviazuk, Fiona Apple, Regina Spektor, Missy Higgins, Emm Gryner, and Amanda Palmer (of The Dresden Dolls). Artists who dare to be different, like Bjork.
Favorite spot?
A silent corner in a park at night. I long for solitude and I like the serenity of the dark.
Equipment used:
Casio CTK-900, Yamaha soprano flute, Sonic Foundry ACID 4.0d Pro.
Anything else...?
I am constantly checking the message board for any new comments/messages from people. I value other people's opinions and I really listen to what they have to say.
If you have any suggestions for my music, I will most probably be keeping them in mind and considering them when I redo my songs or have new projects.
Thank you for reading and enjoy the music! I hope it touches you the way so much music out there has touched me.
In madness and in bliss,
+Libby/EVE
