My name is Jeff Richards. I am primarily a bassist, but also play acoustic & electric guitars. I enjoy all types of music. I've written rap songs, metal, mellow acoustic stuff, humorous tunes, stuff that sounds like it came from the 60's,& some crazy experimental songs that most people don't understand. I'm also an artist & enjoy making up CD artwork for myself & others.
Why this name?
Ummm...It's just my name.
Do you play live?
I really consider myself a songwriter rather than a performer.Yeah....this band I was in played a few gigs, & I had fun, but would really just like to sell my songs or artwork for CD's.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the use of the internet is awesome.It brings the music all over the world.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yeah...you bet!
Band History:
Don't have a band site yet & not much history. I guess I'm kinda a weekend jammer who has been doing this for several years.Never really tried to promote my music.
Your influences?
Wow... I like just about everything from Nine Inch Nails to Robert Johnson to Johnny Cash. The Beatles (the best band ever),Pink Floyd, Korn, Alice in Chains etc.....Blues,Jazz, oldies, rap, techno, as long as it's good.
Favorite spot?
What's that? A favorite spot that's shitty? Yeah...the back of my pants.
Equipment used:
1976 Fender Jazz bass, Aria pro 2, B.C.Rich Warlock, & Yamaha acoustic.
Anything else...?
Most of my songs are home recordings that I've done myself, with an occasional guest guitarist. I don't own a drum set so I have to use my keyboard. All you hardcore musicians with your fancy equipment, keep in mind I work hard for what little I've got & have a daughter to support without the aid of her mother since she has passed away. My sound quality is not great, but I do my best to make it happen with what I have.
