Band/artist history
Growing up in the heart of Los Angeles, Ezell "Yung Walt" Gaines was exposed to the harsh realities of life in the ghetto. Not having a father or any other posititive male figure in his life, Yung Walt turned to the streets for guidance. There he learned to hustle, manipulate, and survive on his own. During his last year of high school (2002) Yung Walt decided to pick up a pen and write about the things he'd seen and been through. He made a name for himself in the streets by skipping school and searching for the best battle rappers at every other school and battling them all. In 2004 Yung Walt dropped out of college to pursue rap full-time. In 200?, and still unsigned, Walt decided to take his rap career into his own hands partnering up with his brother Bubba to begin Ghetto Child Entertainment. Walt released his first album, Hustle 2 Struggle in February of 2006 through Ghetto Child Entertainment. The album was followed by The Presentation mixtape in June 2006. Yung Walt's talent, dedication and perseverance will no doubt enable him to go far. Yung Walt has worked with artists like Snoop, Too Short & Kurupt producing hits so you can be sure to expect fire from his next album, The Journey coming next summer. "My greatest attribute is my professionalism as an artist. Having raw natural ability to write great music, not just rap, separates me from other upcoming artists. Not only on the West Coast but nationally as well. If you listen to my album 'Hustle 2 Struggle' and my mix tape, 'The Presentation', you can see the diversity in my style and how I transcend stereotypical 'West Coast' hip hop." -Yung Walt "ITS YUNG WALT GET YA MIND RIGHT... GHETTO CHILD ENT... DONT WORRY MOMMA I GOT U. I DO IT 4 DA STREETS! "
