Austin texas has a new cow-punk band called THE QUICK AND THE DEAD. The band was formed by Rhoades D'Ablo (RHOADES D'ABLO AND THE DEVIL'S RIGHT HAND, ROCK CITY MORGUE, MUSTANG LIGHTNING) and Ronia Blake (THE HOMEWRECKERS, THE JACKS )in late December of 2005, when D'Ablo relocated to Austin after Hurricane Katrina hit his hometown of New Orleans.
Having a mutual love for old school punk, outlaw country, and cow-punk, the pair began writing songs.
The band enlisted Kurtis Machler ( LOS PLATOS featuring Texacala Jones ) on guitar, CHRIS BLADES on drums, and Trent Tucker on bass and began to set Austin ablaze!!!
The band has recorded tracks for myspace and soundclick for you to enjoy and download, a full length CD will be recorded and released this spring/summer.
Why this name?
There are 2 types of gunfighters.....the quick, and the dead.
