Singer/songwriter Mia Montenegro has an energy on stage so contagious that the audience can't help but get involved. Whether delivering another jaw-dropping rendition of a cover tune, or pouring her heart into one of her own many originals, she always leaves her audience wanting more.
Mia has been a prominent figure at the forefront of the Wisconsin music scene for over fifteen years, and whether she's playing in a trio, duo, or as a solo act, her energy and passion for the music has never faded.
Her trio, "Suburban Gypsies" has received WAMI nominations (Wisconsin Area Music Industry) for awards in the "Best Folk-Rock Group" category and Mia has also been nominated for "Best Female Vocalist."
As both a solo artist and in the many configurations of bands she has played in, Mia has played all of the major Wisconsin music festivals such as Summerfest, Wisconsin State Fair, Bastille Days, Waukesha County Fair, Waukesha's Riverfest, Zoo A La Carte, Harley Fest, and Maritime Days, among others. Her music career has taken her all over the Midwest, playing extensively throughout Wisconsin, as well as Illinois, Minnesota (including several trips to the Canadian border), Michigan, Iowa and South Dakota.

The song "I Wanna Go South," from that CD received a Certificate Of Appreciation In Songwriting from Billboard Magazine.
