Why this name?
I named my first band "CHUNKY" and it didn't take long for people to assume that it was named after me. I resisted the name at first, but soon embraced it and became known as "chunky." Now, I am known simply as "Brother Chunky."
Do you play live?
Yes. Whenever and Wherever we can. Lots of "special moments."
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It "opens" up opportunities for a lot more people.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It depends.
Band History:
Your influences?
I grew up listening to my older sibling's music (late 60s and early 70s). My dad loved the Blues and old Country/Western (favorite was Johnny Cash). As a teen, I was mostly into heavy metal (Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, OZZY, Black Sabbath, AC/DC (love them), Van Halen, etc. Then I moved into Pink Floyd, Oingo Boingo, Talking Heads, B-52s, etc. But, Hendrix and Led Zepplin both influenced me to start playing guitar. Through the years I have learned that I AM ALL ABOUT THE GROOVE!!!, so I am open to most music, if it grooves. I love blues, funk, 60s soul, heavy rock, garage, etc. The songs I write are a mixure of all my influences.
Favorite spot?
My favorite spot is secret.
