Spellghast is a dark metal project that features Lunar Storm and Ominous. The debut album "Moonrise" was symphonic and eerie dark metal with black, death, folk, and doom elements. The 2nd album "Specter Dreams" is in a more progressive vein and features more clean vocals than Moonrise. It's still dark metal though nonetheless. We are currently working on creating a new sound and album. Expect to hear a darker and heavier Spellghast on the next album...

Why this name?
The name Spellghast is perfect for the kind of music we play. Every song is like a spell. A spell with profound and eerie results.
Do you play live?
We have never played live, but who knows? Perhaps one day....
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It definitely brings greater access to underground music. It also makes it to where anyone's music can be heard. The gap is bridged somewhat between mainstream and underground exposure. The only differences have become the obvious disparity between bank accounts and the quality of production.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We would consider it, but we would have to have complete creative freedom and not be pressured into anything.
Band History:
Spellghast (formerly known as Spellcast) started in late 2004 as a solo project by Lunar Storm, but shortly after, became a 2 man project with the addition of Ominous. In 2005, we completed the debut album "Moonrise". In 2007, "Specter Dreams" was finished. 2008 will be a year of rest, writing, regrouping, and re-invention as far as SPELLGHAST is concerned.
