18 years ago in a basement somewhere in Quezon City Philippines. Three brothers had a vision and mission to be heard and make a difference through their kind of music. For 2 consecutive years, they practiced 8 hours a day 6 times a week.

Ace of Spades was born in 1990. Creating a massive tonal earthquakes in Manila's underground scene. It's sheer virtuosity and deep melodic attack that made Ace of Spades one of a kind. Black Sabbath is primarily the bands influence. Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, DIO have also tremendously influenced the band. The songs are Neo-Classical with intense melodic choruses with straight forward lyrics. Eventually, they had made a following and earned the respect and admiration of other musicians from the mainstream and underground scene.

They gained honor and prestige by winning the Band Wars in 1994, besting numerous bands from different parts of the country by accumulating most of the top awards. To top it all, they won The Katha Music Awards for Best Rock Gospel Song "Dakilang Hesus" from their self-titled album¡Magnum Opus.

The bands attitude and music made them one of the top caliber bands in the Philippines. They might have been out of the scene for a while but their music still lingers in the hearts of their loyal friends and supportive fans who continuously believe in them and hoping that one day, the much awaited comeback will be worth the long wait. And they vowed it will be! You'll be in for more surprises, Expect the unexpected! Yes, there will be a Second Coming!!!

Why this name?
i'ts a death card. Death is inevitable, mysterious, a wonderful scary experience.
Do you play live?
we love to play live and loud! we played at club dredd, mayrics, cafe romeo, music gallerie and a bunch of concerts.

one special moment when we joined the inter campus bandwars that was held in intramuros. it was jam packed! it was the time when eraserheads was newly introduced on mainstream. we won each category ( best vocalist, guitarist, bassist, drummer ) and we won best band that night. and the time that we had a gig with The Youth in Kampo West ave. we kicked their asses on stage the crowd went wild on our set and when the youth's turn they all got bored and started cursing. the singer got pissed and called us names. it was really funny because The youth had this rockstar atittude to think that they only got a hit in LA105. i think they need to concentrate on their music...hmmm taking a bath everyday will be good also.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
yes it did but in a good way, you get to connect to a lot of people who share your kind of music and interest. it keeps us all updated on upcoming bands.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
we'll think about that.
Your influences?
Black sabbath basically but we have our individual influences thats why we have made some good originals.
Favorite spot?
graveyard. its not crowded and it's peaceful. We sleep there sometimes.
