Band History:
Starting at thirteen, Dave started a cover band that would go on to play several school shows. His true passion, however, was going home and writing his own music. He came up with a sound that was both peaceful, with shimmering clean guitars and intense with a wall of distortion, some feedback and harmonics occasionally. While still a teen, he played in a cover band by the name of Outlet, introducing the song, "Traveled" which was inspired by a trip to the Grand Canyon, to the public. Despite the success of the first show, the bassist and drummer left to pursue respective careers in funk studio sessions and gospel. While experiencing a second wind of creativity in college, he came up with a slightly darker sound and lots of new material, based on the life he was living and his tragic surroundings. These songs would go on to become the album, “Frozen Heaven.” He tried, unsuccessfully, to form a band again, finding a bassist but no drummer that would commit. He agreed with two friends to form side-project, an experimental band named Magnum Opus, and co-wrote the little heard song "Our Vietnam." Upon graduating college, his new friend and would-be bassist went on his separate way to pursue a career in art education. A brief stint in the now defunct heavy rock band, Paper Soul, allowed him to perform "Just Can't Find Myself Here," a harder song from the Frozen Heaven era that most concertgoers referred to as “The best song of the set.” Post-college life yielded yet another new, primarily acoustic sound and the album eventually titled, "April Flowers." Dave is looking forward to getting his new and old material heard and enjoyed the way it was always intended.
