I am a solo singer/lyricist with Red Yard Records. I have 2 mixtapes and a solo album to my credit.
Why this name?
My first name is Allison and my middle initial is R. I chose this name because I wanted to retain some privacy.
Do you play live?
I've only played once live. It was a lesson learned. Once college is out for the summer I should be performing more and in many different places.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
More people know about me. If we weren't so internet dependent very few people would hear my music.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. I am signed to a small label at the moment, and if the conditions are right my current label will let me move on.
Band History:
I've been singing since I was very young (4-ish). Ever since 5th grade I've been in a choir. Now I'm strictly solo.
Your influences?
I grew up on classic rock of the 60-70s. Some modern influences are Jewel, Alanis, and Fiona Apple.
Favorite spot?
My favorite place to sing is in the car or shower. I've not done much travelling so my fav city is up for grabs.
Equipment used:
Just a cd, mic, and me. No band as of yet, but hopefully that will change soon.
