The crew consists of 4 Individuals: God the Father, Jesus the Son, the Holy Spirit, and Excelsius. The mission is simple: Edify, Encourage & Enlighten the masses with the Word of God and phat beats.
Why this name?
Excelsius was my line name when I pledged Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity. Back then, it meant "X was Cold", as in I thought I was one bad brotha. But when I got saved, it took on a new meaning. It now refers to "X was Cold", as in X was cold (or dead/lifeless) without the love of Jesus in my life. It's also a play on the the latin translation of "Glory to God in the Highest".
Do you play live?
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I certainly would . . . distribution only though.
Band History:
I've been rhyming since '86. Been rhyming for the glory of God since '96. I was introduced to Hip-Hop by my older brothers when I was around 11 or 12. When I got to college, I hosted the campus Hip-Hop Show and realized that as God was moving in my life, my love of Hip-Hop was not going to just up and die. So for me this started out as a hobby. That was until I saw how it started to reach some close family and friends that were not saved and had no desire to walk with God. From there, the stage was set to begin this ministry to reach out those that might not be interested in attending church, or have no desire to seek God.
