Why this name?
Well,it was kinda funny how my name came about.I was originally LOWDOWN back in day when I first started rapping with the great DRE KWAN of LANDFIELD.He told me that there was already a cat in Cleveland with that name.About a month later I was talking to my brother in law.He asked me some silly question about why am I always in the bathroom lifting weight.lol.I was a young cat at the time so I couldnt just fight him right.Now everyone that knows me say that I am really hard to understand when I get mad or excited. So I said some ole stuff to him which he thought sounded funny.He then mumbled," aru ru ru ru" back to me and laughed.He said,"man thats what you sound like so I bout to start calling you RU-RU".Of course I was salty about the sh*** at first but eventually the whole fam started saying it so It stuck with me.I got a little creative and matched RU-RU to mean RUFF-RUGGED because thats the way I was feeling at that particular point in my life.I know it might sound a lil silly but hey you asked.lol
Do you play live?
I did a few peformance at the Rhythm Room in Clevand,ohio.The Agora Ballroom in Cleveland along with DRE KWAn and UPTOWN of LANDFIELD before BIG DADDY KANE AND KILLA PRIEST a few years ago when they were doing the Lyrist Lounge tour.1 performance at the International Ball room in Columbus.My special moment would have to be when we did a talent show performance at Ashland University in Ashland,Ohio.we didnt win but it felt good to get a lot of love and prop from a lot of college friends who had no idea that we could rap.I love it and will continue performing
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think that it can get your music exposed to a ot of people that you will never meet otherwise.I know that there is a negative side too though
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes.Only if the company likes my material, we clicked and the paper work was right.Its hard to do business with someone that you dont feel comfortable with
