I am an independant musician working in various styles. I confess that I prefer more pop-like phrasing and instruments, but I do like to experiment (hence the name of the band).
Why this name?
See introduction.
Do you play live?
I don't often play live, but I will if the right situation presents itself.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Digital music distribution will eventually become the method of choice for delivery. I personally prefer lossless uncompressed (full 16 bit) audio (like what is distributed on a CD). However, the convenience of Internet distribution will eventually win me over and away from uncompressed digital audio. In other words, it's far easier to deal with .mp3 files on a memory stick than it is to carry around a load of plastic CDs that can get scratched and lost.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, conditionally. It would depend entirely on the contract verbiage.
Your influences?
Influenced by various solo guitarists (Vai, Satriani, EVH, etc), Mike Oldfield, Journey, Boy Bands (more the songwriters than the artists) and many other pop artists over the years. If I hear something I like, it may influence me in a particular direction for a time.
Favorite spot?
None specific. To me a city is a city. New York City is probably the most distinctive of all that I've visited. But, it doesn't mean I'd want to live there on a permanent basis.
Equipment used:
I use an Alesis Micron, Proteus 2000, Acid MusicStudio 5 as a mixer and sequencer, DigiTech 2120 Guitar Processor, Zoom 9150 Guitar Processor, Roland DR5, an Alesis Multimix 12 Firewire mixer and a computer to tie it all together with Midi. I also have various digital recorders (DAT and CD).
