With former members of Caca Fuego and Bar Fly, Day’s Work Dime is a new power trio intent on making its mark on the Atlanta Music scene. After seasoning their skills with other bands in such out-of-the way locales as Athens, Atlanta, and Wurtzburg Germany, Day’s Work Dime has put together a sound that can best be described as AternataMelodiTestosteRock.
Why this name?
The band takes it’s name from a little know Blue’s Standard with the line, “Lazy Bones, Lazy Bones, where you gonna get your Day’s Work Dime.
Do you play live?
Currently Day's Work Dime is actively gigging out in the Atlanta and Athens areas of Georgia. Playing Live is the biggest reason for doing all of this.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives the artist more power and flexability. Anyone with a couple spare dollars per month can throw up a website and promote their band. It's a beautiful thing.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends on the terms of the agreement. I'm not about to get raped by a record company and end up a slave.
Band History:
The current lineup of Al Groves on Bass/Vocals, Jody Hay on Guitar and Douglas Bell on Drums has been going on and off since 1996. We've played at most of the major clubs in Atlanta and a few in Athens. Currently we're working up a six song demo while playing shows locally.
Your influences?
Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, Pink Floyd, Tool, Alice in Chains, Sound Garden, The Tea Party.
Love 'em or Hate 'em, that's the skinny.

Favorite spot?
Favortie Spot? G-Spot. No question.
Equipment used:
We play real instruments. Screaming guitars, rumbling basses, and thundering drums. Take your electronics and go home!
