Why this name?
My real name is Robert Boyd. This is where I get the intials for my name REB from.
Do you play live?
No, I am currently not playing live right now. I am trying to find some places to do some shows around town in Las Vegas or L.A. If you are interested in booking me just e-mail me and we can work something out.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It helps artists listen to other artists. It gives people a light to show where they are going in the music community. I see the internet as beneficial to the music labels as they are now looking towards the talent right on the internet and not directly at demos coming into the offices.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes. I am looking to sign when the time is right and the label makes me feel comfortable.
Band History:
I started making music in 2003. I was working with a man named Anthony Harrell. He was producing my music at my time in California. We worked on a couple of tracks and that kick started me getting into the music business. I am currently working on a demo with Rip The Mic Recordz during my time in Las Vegas, Nevada. M.C.T. is producing my music.
Your influences?
I get my influences from Micheal Jackson, Johnny Hathoway, Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, The Temptations, Anita Baker, and Miles Davis. These are the founders of great music each one of these artists brought something new to the table and that is why they will be remembered forever.
Favorite spot?
I would have to say my favorite spot is Los Angeles. My second favorite would have to go to Maui though.
Equipment used:
I use a Korg Triton when I am in Los Angeles as well as an MPC 4000 (an amazing piece of equipment). Then of course the vocal chords.
