Matt Theberge is the sole member of 12 Daze. Within the last decade, Matt has released 6 solo CDs, writing all of the music and playing all the instuments himself. Matt self-produces his 12 Daze releases.

In between CD releases, Matt has participated in other projects. Being a long time member of a Northern New Hampshire based band, “Alien X”, Matt had the opportunity to back acts such as Great White, and Blue Oyster Cult. After a few years, “Alien X” took a long overdue break. This break would result in a short lived side project for Matt. He became the drummer for a band called “Coldfire”. This band was a tribute to the Canadian Progressive band Rush. “Coldfire” played two shows with Rik Emett (formerly of the band Triumph). Soon thereafter, “Coldfire” would come to a screaming halt and “Alien X” would reform. The band would go on to release 2 CDs before finally calling it quits in 1999. Matt’s last live performance with a band was New Years Eve 1999. He sat in with a band known as “Clockwork Orange”. When the year 2000 came, Matt decided to drop out of the local band circuit and produce music he can be proud of.

Currently, Matt is working on his 7th 12 Daze CD.
Why this name?
12 is Matt's favorite number. Daze is his constant state of mind.
Do you play live?
Matt hasn't played a full live show in years. At this time, there are no current plans of a 12 Daze tour.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think the internet is the biggest promotional tool for any indie artist. Your music can be heard all over the world with only on click of a button.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Undecided
Your influences?
Blind Melon is and always will be my biggest influence. Chris Shinn is constantly creating music that is above and beyond anything else that anyone releases today. Counting Crows have also been a huge influence. That acoustic sound accompanied by moody lyrics gets me every time. Kevin Martin has made a huge impact on my writing. He use to sing for Candlebox. Now, he fronts a band called The HiWatts.

To name a few more, Starsailor, Mazzy Star, Poe, Fiona Apple, Maktub, Pearl Jam, Bush, Dishwalla, Fiona Apple, Unified Theory, The Sound I Saw, Porno for Pyros, Sarah McLachlan, and Robert Plant have all been influences.
Equipment used:
