The Meteors were formed in Manchester in the early sixties. A band of sixteen year olds who supported the best of British name bands for a number of years including the Rolling Stones and many others.( See poster on site)

Why this name?
Too long ago to remember
Do you play live?
They were probably too young to sign to a record label and too young too go on the road full time.

By the time they were old enough the lead singer moved to Australia and the band split.

Pete Simenky and John Howarth got back together in the late nineties and today 2003 they are busy writing and recording new material. The Meteors have now signed to independent label Tabitha Records and their first album "Up close and personal" a series of unplugged tracks will be available very soon.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It is helpful.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Of course!

Everything.
Favorite spot?
Hamburg Germany.
Anything else...?
We cannot believe that we are recording and playing again. But this time we are old enough.
