I sing, play and write by myself generally, but without the help of some good friends I wouldn't have been able to accomplish much.
Why this name?
It was chosen for me.
Do you play live?
Currently writing and recording only. Shifting between Black Canyon City Arizona and Yonkers, New York.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Well, that's difficult to answer, but I'll try.
I have no idea how I think. And yes, the internet did change the music industry.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
That would depend on a number of things. Probably yes. Would I sign to write music for someone else? In a heartbeat.
Your influences?
My influences have had quite a ride over the years. There's Beatles, Clapton, Jazz greats like Joe Pass and Wes Montgomery, Al Dimeola, Indigo Girls and just general well written, well constructed rock and pop/rock. I'm more about the song itself than the musical style. Once it starts to breathe on its own, the song tells you what it needs.
Favorite spot?
As cities go, there's no place like New York City. As for favorite spots, right now it's Sedona, Arizona.
Equipment used:
Ibanez, Fender, Hohner Guitars, Line 6 Toneport UX2, Gearbox software, Sennheiser Mic, Rode Broadcaster
Anything else...?
I'm also an artist in the traditional sense. Check out my portfolio if you like: http://victormcghee.com
