I'm mostly into making dance/electronic music. Sometimes ambient. I love sweeping keyboard sounds and that's something i try to use at times.
Why this name?
During my year in Korea I was at a really bad nightclub once with my friend John. Very 80's/early 90's music. There was a DJ with a ridiculous name beginning with R. When I asked John the name of the DJ a few days's later he said. "DJ Ropey or something like that". I always liked the idea of a DJ Ropey.
Do you play live?
As of yet, no.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
Anyone can be heard easily and on demand. The way it should always have been.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
For large sums of cash....of course.
Your influences?
In recent years I've been erring slightly towards electronica, house, club mixes etc. I like a lot of 80's electronic/dance music like Pet Shop Boys and similar artists.
I've been into rock for a while also. Mostly more "melodical" stuff like Faith No More. I'm a big fan of synths and synths in rock music.
