I've been songwriting for many years. I quit playing in bands several years ago to spend more time with my kids, but now that they're older and it's cool for their Dad to play, I'm getting back into it. This site is for my songs, mostly recorded at home.
Why this name?
I just used my own name, since it's just me on these recordings.
Do you play live?
Not as a solo act. I play in a cover band that does classic rock, and a band that focuses more on originals.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
For folks like us, the ability to get our music to more people is great. 20 years ago, an unsigned musician had no opportunity to get their music outside of their local community.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
In the extremely unlikely event that such became possible -- of course.
Band History:
It's just me. Born 1962. Played in several cover bands and original music bands. Never a full-time musician. Did an album in 1989 in Austin, TX, but I really failed to market it well. Still have the master on DAT, and I may redo the packaging and put it out on CD.
Your influences?
Rock, but blues-influenced rock. That said, my favorite musicians right now are James McMurtry, John Hiatt, and, always, Jimi Hendrix and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
Favorite spot?
Austin, Texas, and Sheridan, Wyoming.
