"I've been involved in music from as far back as i can remember. I went to the clubs alot as a little kid so music was a strong part of my childhood. Growing up in the peaceful streets of kaduna (in the northern part of Nigeria) also helped in the careful and delicate creation of "the mind"....the greatest weapon."
Why this name?
eLDee stands for "L and D" my initials but its a name I have been called from when I was about 4 years old so I guess it just stuck.
Do you play live?
Ive played a few live shows in Atlanta in the past year. I played tons of shows while I was still based in west africa though.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
..this is the future baby!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
...nahhhh.
Band History:
Too much to detail here. Ive put up this site so everybody can get a chance to hear most of the work Ive done over the years. From wy back in 98 till date. I'll try to have all the songs I can find available on this site inlcuding unreleased "trybesmen" material!.

Most songs on this page from Trybesmen or da trybe date as far back as 98 when we first ever picked up microphones. Weak, they may sound to younger listeners, but old-school folks will agree with me when I say these are the songs that created what is today known across the globe as "afro-hiphop"

Please check back for regular updates.
Your influences?
Life in general. I create alot of happy tunes cos Im a naturally happy person but I guess growing up has also made me realise the world is not such a pretty place so I tend to express that as well...
Favorite spot?
ATL
Equipment used:
Software: Reason 3.0, Logic Pro 7, Protools LE 7,...bunch of other stuff,..mad plugins..etc I used to be a fruityloops, cubase, cakewalk guy but I guess time and experience changes alot of things.

Hardware: Mac G5, Mbox, Roland GI-20 guitar midi interface, Midi guitar, Roland SP-606 workstation sampler, Roland Juno-D synthesizer, Yamaha Motif, Korg Triton, Motu Firewire, M-Audio 24/96, Tannoy monitors, Behringer mics, Behrinder euroboard mixer, Akai MPC3000, ...etc

Alot of the tracks on this site were produced on my old setup before all this funky stuff. I just thot Id add that disclaimer...lol. For the new eLDee stuff, go to http://www.soundclick.com/trybeproductions

..Yes, thats all I do these days. Have had the honor to work with big name artists these past few months and aint nothing in my way from the grammies next year. I did some production with Lauryn Hill on her forthcoming album...look out for that this summer!
