Beat Department a/k/a Beat Dept. Proudly presents it's first independent nationwide debut album Antonio Montana & Nitro's "Threatening Behavior". The Band, Label and artist all originally derive from New Orleans, La. But due to hurricane Katrina are now scattered throughout the southeren region.Beat Department LLC. Has various Projects and artist coming soon such as Nitro, Rick Spitz, Antonio Montana, and a group project called "The Legacy(Nitro & Rick Spitz)".

Why this name?
The band name and label name was produced strictly on what we bring to the table. Montana makes the hot beats thus the name Beat Dept. Rick Spitz and Nitro which are 2 southeren rappers, who dont really have a major southeren sound. These two individuals are strong apart, so just imagine them together. They are more into the classic style of hip hop, or the "Legacy" of genre, thus you have "The Legacy".
Do you play live?
We play live any and everywhere. The Label has so far been killing Dallas,Tx. And developing a strong presence there long before the debut of this album. We love and enjoy what we do, the fans, and support we recieve when performing, things couldnt be better.We just recently opened for the FRANCHISE BOYS in Dallas(Shots out to Peanut of Franchise ent.) it was one of our best shows yet.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think mp3's change the industry as far as exposure and attracting more of an audience to your music. The only thing that might travel faster than the internet is word of mouth, with sites like soundclick you get them both.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Signing with a Major Label is what we're shooting for. Any one out there like Universal, Interscope, Jive, feel free to contact us.

Your influences?
Hip Hop in every form and fashion is our musical influence, from artist as big as Tupac and Jay-z, to old school artist such as Big Daddy Kane and Kool G Rap.
Favorite spot?
NEW ORLEANS,LA. Of COURSE. WE GOTTA BRING THE HOOD BACK AFTER KATRINA!!!!!
