Why this name?
DCS stands for Dobos-Carter-Smith which are the surnames of families that have made me who i am. Dobos being my birth mum, Carter being my step-mum, and Smith being my Dad's and my surname.
Do you play live?
I'm currently developing my DJing skills to perform in local clubs, where i can promote my own material. I have friends whom are club DJ's themselves - so its not going to be too difficult for me to get heard.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I can get heard, you can get heard - pretty much anyone who has access to a computer can get their material out there. Its a great way of communicating and collaborating with artists on a global range.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Depends whether i made a career in other areas. If i fail in them areas and i get offered a deal, yeah i'd take it, sure. If i did get offered a deal then its a complement that somebody see's a future with my material.
Band History:
Been producing music for around one and half years. Got a great love for hip-hop and a huge amount of respect for artists who flow nicely over a beat i've produced.
Your influences?
Underground Hip-Hop, Commercial Hip-Hop, Rock-Rap, Gangstarr, Eminem, Xzibit, Necro, Linkin Park, 50 Cent, Dre, M.O.P, 2Pac, Rob Dougan (man that guy rocks), The Streets (just cuz i can relate so much more than American vibes) and pretty much any producer whose devised a decent beat.
Favorite spot?
New York. My Favourite spot has to be right here expressing myself musically.
Equipment used:
Ah ha! Now that would be telling...
Anything else...?
If you're interested in purchasing one of the beats then send an e-mail to lee@watchmanproductions.tv with an attachment of some vocal material that you have recently done. Things will be taken from there.
