Why this name?
It’s not the most original! It’s just an abbreviation of my real name Adam Daniels. People started calling it me back in the day, so when I started rapping I just thought it was the right name to use. Well that and the fact I couldn’t think of anything else.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The Internet is a great oppertunity to give unsigned bands the exposure they need to break into the industry or to sell their own music. Illegal downloading is bleeding the industry dry and making it harder and harder for bands to get signed, but hey! I do it ;-)
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Damn Right I would. A company who I’m not gonna name offered me a deal and I turned it down. Only time will tell if that’s a big mistake or not. Right now I put my sh*t out through my own imprint Big Fam Entertainment.

Band History:
This young man from Birmingham may not seem like your ideal character to be walking in a rapper’s shoes, but A.D. is doing just that. His first mix-tape, “The Situation Part 1”, sold over a thousand copies in his local area and created such a buzz he earned spins on local radio stations “Hot ’92” and “Premier 101.2 FM”. A.D. started rapping in the summer of 2003 without any intention of taking things seriously. He began rhyming over some of hip-hop’s hottest joints, creating his own remixes. After a few of his tracks leaked out in to the streets, there was a clear demand to hear more from this artist. He decided it was time to start trying to make some money with the use of his vocal skills, so he began selling copies of his 13-track CD in and around Brum. After the success of his first attempt he began working on his debut album “Who Am I?” with the help of 21:26 Productions front man, Mr Lazer. A.D. hooked up with Lazer in December 2004 through a friend, and within a week of meeting each other they had made their first track “House Party”. A.D. explains, “Lazer was looking for a rapper to work with at the time so someone gave him a copy of my mix-tape; he eventually gave it a listen and liked what he heard. He knocked on my door one day out of the blue with some beats he had made. As soon as I played them, I knew we were gonna make some sick music together. We decided almost straight away to make an LP, and within a week the first track was done. We’ve both worked real hard and now the album’s finished. I finally feel that things are moving forward”. The title track off the album and its video were produced by A.D. himself and featured on Channel U. In October 2005 A.D. was nominated for Best Urban Act at the Birmingham Music Awards, and although he didn't win, it showed he was at the forefront of the ever growing Birmingham urban scene. This also led to sudden media interest, including an extensive interview for SoGrimey.com magazine and many well received national radio plays. In January 2006 A.D and Big Fam parted company with Mr. Lazer and the 21:26 camp, due to a conflict of interest, and is now working with a network of producers from across the globe, as well as improving his own production skills. "At first I was gonna keep it local and try to find a new beat-maker from Brum. Then I got in contact with some producers from the US, France, even Russia. Hip-Hop is a worldwide movement and I wanna go global with it man. Try and make some real original music by bringing lots of different cultures and styles to the table". Before work on his second album can begin, A.D. is busy in the studio laying down vocals for his long awaited second mix-tape "The Situation Part 2", which will be available for download from July 10th 2006. Also watch out for some surprise cameo appearances on various UK and US mix-tapes this year, as well as some live performances in the summer.
