Mythology and music have always interested me. Both are as old as the human race and serve important functions in our collective psyche.

All forms of music and story telling.
The music must simply have soul and the stories must be creative.
Musically, anything from classical to jazz, punk to celtic, reggae to bluegrass, traditional musics from all countries to show tunes. They all have something to offer and learn from.
As for stories, the media is not so important. Movies, books, poems and songs or just sitting around the camp fire telling spooky stories. It's all good.
