Hey!Im a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. On record you will hear my tunes with a full band, or strings, brass, whatever. Live is a different story. I perform solo with acoustic guitar and vocal, in true unplugged style!
I've made a couple of records so far. The first 'sketchy little people' was for sale only at gigs and is now very nearly out of stock. The second 'a lighthouse keeper's diary' was released nation ally on my own label 'regulus music' and distributed to record stores both physical and digital by absolute/universal. It's doing quite well too! I'm working on some new stuff at the moment, watch this space!

Why this name?
I'ts my name! You should ask my mother(but dont)
Do you play live?
I play all overe the UK, and just came back from my first tour of the states, which was great! Lots of good moments, like making a big butch punk rocker cry into his beer while singing 'runaway' packing out my album launch with 420 people and choking onstage in hilarious fashion because of being next to the smoke machine. Zipping the bassist inside a bass drum case, rolling down a grassy cliff face and landing on my head, falling over onstage at the tyne in newcastle, pogo jumping to acoustic blues and hitting my head on a chandelier, rambling bullshit on the mic, a million hangovers, etc....
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I've had to edit this, because I've changed my mind a bit. It's been tried and tested now as a method of breaking out, and if you get it right and put the time and the miles in it can work. That's that! I've left the old answer below for you all to look at. CD's on shelves, what was I thinking!!!!
"I think the internet helps unsigned bands develop a following and a buzz. A lot of people talk about using the internet to independently release, market and distribute your music. I think that is great on a small scale, or to start with, but to really make it big you need CDs on the shop shelves, along with radio and press. I like the idea of music being free(even though it means songwriters dont get paid). I download lots of music on kazaa, and I still buy cds, after I've made sure its good by downloading some of it. Recently I've changed my opinion about record labels. The industry is currently not at its best. As a result they are unwilling to take risks with new music. Even rock music now is totally packaged and fake. There is room for people to record and release their own music independantly, and make a success of it. You can be your own record label, and not get screwed. I plan on doing something like this with my forthcoming release "a lighthouse keepers diary"."

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I'm not anti industry, just pro DIY. So if it was right for me, then yes, definitely.
