Jeff Compton writes and records his own music at his home studio in Jacksonville,Fl. The style of music is Instrumental Guitar Rock.
Why this name?
Came up with it myself.
Do you play live?
This is more of a studio experiment. I've no real plans to play any of this material live currently.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It allows the artist to freely explore his or her own range of expression without the interference of producers or record companies.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Born and raised in Greenville, Ohio, I've been playing guitar for 20 years, and have been recording since 1987. I've played in various touring and non-touring bands from Cincinnati,Oh., to Charlotte, N.C., and elsewhere. I currently reside in Jacksonville, Fl.
My musicial influences include: Hendrix, King Crimson, Zappa, and tool, for starters. Perhaps too many to name.
I use an Ibanez RG7420 7 string , and Fernandes guitars, one fretless, both have the sustainer installed., My acoustic is an American Ovation, I am now using the Line 6 POD XT Live guitar processor. I have used the Vox Tonelab SE for many of My guitar tones prior to now. All recording is done using the Tascam FW-1082 control surface and Sonar 6, Adobe Audition 2, and Steinberg Nuendo software.
