Hugh Ford is a vocalist/guitarist. Enriching people's lives though traditional and contemporary song, bringing years of experience to the music community. His bands have performed in many night clubs and concert halls in and around the New York-New Jersey Metro area. Over the years we have had the honor to play for, and share the stage with many great and famous artists, far too many to mention here. We have lots of good(and a few not so good)memories to reflect on.We loved every moment of it.Believing in being well rounded musicically, you will hear different genres music from us. The band's music consists of Jazz, R&B, Pop, Rock, Reggae and Gospel.
Why this name?
This is a very special name. It was given to me by my mother. I've had quite a few bands, and the names have come and gone.I think this name is appropriate at this stage of the game.
Do you play live?
We play live in and around the New York-New Jersey Metropolitan Area, mostly club dates and private parties. We've played concert halls and club circuits up and down the East Coast(including Canada),and on the West coast as well, for many years. We don't travel that much anymore, but we still love performing LIVE. Anytime we can play our music for people, it is a special moment.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
With the advent of computers and Global Internet access, musicians, like myself, have been given an avenue to get our music heard.I think it simplifies the process of getting our music from point A to point B(which is the general public). This is the wave of the future, and who knows where it will take us...we're rady to go with the flow!
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
We've been close to signing with a major label several times, but something always happened to gum-up the deal. If offered a good deal, we'd probably would jump at the opportunity.
Your influences?
My musical influences stretch a very long way. I listen to everyone from Garth Brooks to Johnny Mathis. I guess thats why it's so hard to place my music in a certain catagory. Whenever I write a song, all the influences come in together, making it a collaberation of different styles. If you could have seen my band, in the days when Jimi Hendrix was my stongest influence, you may have seen me smashing a guitar or two. Thank God we've lived long enough to mellow out. We're more Jazz,R&b-Pop now.
Equipment used:
The equipment list in our studio goes on and on. We've learned that the best thing you can have in your studio is a good pair of ears! It's all in the mix.
Anything else...?
Thanks to all the musicians who have worked with me down thru the years, and especially all the guys and gals who participated in the various musical projects with Triple H Productions.
