The Circle Birds is a side project of the famed Grugg Hans, fusing the relaxed sounds of ambient, almost ethereal, melodies with post-hip-hop beats. The melodic structure utilizes the beauty and unpredictability of chaos while at the same time paralleling a chill atmosphere of smooth rhythm.

Grugg Hans (aka Hans Grugheim, aka DJ Afterquake, aka Spindial) first spun in Berlin as a lost German youth of nineteen. He graduated to the Amsterdam scene as a seasoned pro of twenty-five. By the time he was twenty-nine, Hans had traveled from Prague to Athens to Moscow and all the way back to London, and even performed a brief stint in Dublin. Grugg Hans, now thirty-one, presently resides with his wife in New York.
