Joey Allen
I am medically retired and started recording my own original songs. Played professional in the 70's and then part time till 2,000. I traded my PA system for a keyboard and taught myself how to play well enough to lay down my own tracks, downloaded a recording studio and thus engineered my own recordings in home on my computer. Having raised a large family,(9 children) music became a hobby and I still enjoy it.
Music
Driving rhythm with lead vocal and strong backups and features tenor sax.
Features lead vocal and a wide sound arrangement.
A love song that features lead vocal, backup vocals and tenor sax solo.
Lead vocal with wide instrumentation landscape.
Dark evil sounding instrumental.
Wide symphonic sound with a latin touch.
Slow blues, slightly gothic with strong vocals on chorus
Slightly gothic wide sound with lead vocal.
Instrumental with a haunting melody.
Slow and cut back sound of vibes and angels. A little touch of darkness on the chorus. lnstrumental take of this melody.
Why this name?
Joey Allen is my first and middle name
Do you play live?
I no longer can perform live because of a heart condition. When I did I loved it. Special times is when I was on the road with my own group, The Joey Allen Combo, in the 70's. Then played locally for many years.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think that people like myself can enjoy all types of music and have opportunities like this to get your message out.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Obviously not to record, but perhaps there are artists out there that might show interest in my material and want to use it. However, the way things are now I would be more than glad to record tracks from home if someone would say, I would like to add a sax track from you for my mix. Something like that would not surpise me.
Your influences?
Easy listening, soft jazz, slightly gothic original and different. Wide sound with original arrangements.
Favorite spot?
NIAGARA FALLS
Equipment used:
Selmer Tenor Sax, Yamaha PSR 340 keyboard, Behringer Eurpower PMX 2000 Mixer, N-Track Recording Studio
Anything else...?
All my songs are written, arranged, recorded and engineered by myself. All my songs are written from dreams I have and make notes when I wake up, sometimes actually getting up and recording right away and keeping the original first take.

just put up a new song with some of my best guitar work ever: thats what happens when a song inspires I suppose. Please check it out when you have a minute. This song, by Ross Adams, is part of a compilation CD to benefit the homeless.

Outstanding! Joe. I love Angels’and Witches. If u want any opinion from me...I would turn up your vocals. The instrumentals are great and the voice is good to. But other than that…I like it, it’s a great tune.
