Christle is a new country artist on the scene. Her meaningful songs come from the heart and are sure to touch yours. She gained the title Buckeye Country Star in her homestate of Ohio in 2005.
Why this name?
I was born with it! My parents got a bit creative with the spelling!
Do you play live?
I play live all over, pretty much any place I can get my hands on. I love to sing. I started in my local church in Northwest Ohio and then in Novemeber I won Buckeye Country Star and things just took off from there. I guess a special moment would have been the first time that I performed my song live. I had never performed "You're Not Here" in front of people. After that...I was hooked on performing live, their reaction just blew me away!
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I think that alot more people can look at your music online and not have to commit to buying a whole cd that they might not even like. This way they get a preview of the artist and then buy the cd if they like it. The internet is a great source to really get the background on an artist too.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, I would play for free, but then I would still have to have a full time job. If I could just sing for a living and dedicate all my time to singing it would be a dream come true!
Band History:
Christle was born in a small town in Ohio with music in her veins and began singing in the public at the age of 12. She started in her local church, surrounding churches, and soon became a member of her school choir. Soon after entering high school, Christle caught the eye of many when she perfomed in "Oklahoma" at the age of 15. Many other stage performances followed and her love for music increased. Shortly after picking up the guitar Christle began to write her own songs that reflected her feelings on life and lessons learned. Her songs come from real pain and joy that she has encountered along the way. In December of 2004 Christle lost her first love and best friend. That drove her to write "You're Not Here". She said "If someone can turn on the radio and hear one of my songs, and it helps them to know that someone else knows what they are going through, that's what it is all about" in a 2005 interview with the BG News. In November of 2005 Christle got much recognition for winning the title of Buckeye Country Star. She recalls " I had never performed my songs to anyone live and it felt like I was pouring out my heart to hundreds of people I didn't know, but everyone loved it. I had no idea this would be this big!" Soon after winning Christle and Driver recorded her single "You're Not Here" along with two other songs written by her father. "You're Not Here" and "My Old Man" where played on 103.7 Buckeye Country WCKY after an interview with Big D and Bubba, and the response has been more than she could have imagined. Thanks to all her new fans!

Your influences?
My musical influences come from a lot of different places. When people hear me sing they have a hard time saying who I sound like because my sound is very origional. I grew up listening to anything I could get my ears on. Oldies, blues, rap, country, punk, contemparary christian, gospel, and r&b. You name it I listen to it!
Favorite spot?
I was on a mission trip in Laurel Kentuckey and we took a ride to the top of this mountain at sunset. We watched the sun go down over the mountains and everything just seemed so peacefull and perfect. A very close second would be when I went to the Grand Canyon with my Aunt and Uncle. It's beauty is just breathtaking!
Equipment used:
Vocals and guitar
Anything else...?
A lot of people ask where I come up with my songs. I am inspired by life itself. In the past 3 years so much has happened. So many people go through so many things in their life also. These joys and pains are what music is all about. I write my songs hoping that someone hears them that needs to know that someone else knows what they are feeling.
