"It's like Progressive Rock with Mandolins. Kind of Celtic Progressive Rock. Is there such a style? Since Schumacher there is." (Quote: MZ, WN, 12.08.1996)

Schumacher's music embraces a wide range of musical styles - a true blend of Progressive Rock, Blues and Celtic and classical music arrangements.

Schumacher's sound has always been best described as Political Progressive Rock, not restrained by popular expectations, which is evident not only in his own songs and orchestral arrangements, but also in the few cover songs he produced. His voice reminds of the energy of CCR's John Forgety or Bruce Springsteen.

Check out "Sweet Little Angel" or "Beautiful" for a snapshot of the band´s acoustic-progressive work.
Why this name?
Just my name. Hopefully, you'll be more impressed by my music than by my name picking skills.
Do you play live?
I used to with various bands, blues duos etc. These days it is really more of a studio project. There were a lot of special moments, but one of my favorites was playing at a club and Edwyn Starr walked in, had a listen and a beer with us after the show.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet will allow especially the independent artists to not only be heard, but be themselves rather than having to be shelved as just another copy of a big star. Ultimately, as the listening community grows, the decision of who is hot and who is not will be given back to the community.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Let me think...YEAH obviously, are you kidding me ?
Your influences?
Really anything progressiv and creative no matter which style. For example, Jethro Tull, Marillion,Pink Floyd but also Blues, Jazz and some old school Rock like Free etc. Didn't shy away from Metal or hardcore punk either.
Favorite spot?
Anywhere, where they have a stage, a piano or a guitar and a mic.
Equipment used:
I work with both real instruments (piano, organ, guitars, mandolin, etc.)as well as a multitude of synthesizers and soft synths, predominantly cause I cannot fit an entire symphonic orchestra in my basement.
Anything else...?
Take a listen. Hope you like it. Comments and feedback appreciated. Oh, and buy a tune or two, musicians need to eat..especially this one !
