We're a comedy band residing in Burnsville, Minnesota. Don't take us seriously, we don't lmao
Why this name?
Mike just blurted it out, with no real thought behind it, and I thought, yea, since "Billig" is German for cheap, and this is a cheap ass project, why not
Do you play live?
Yea, we have our first live show soon. No special moments yet
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
well, without the internet we would be NOTHING right now, so i guess I support music downloading.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
NO, WE WILL NEVER ABANDON CYBERPUNK!!!!!
Band History:
One day on September 29th of 2005, two good friends Zach Olson and Mike Jants got bored, considering they were the only two present at the practice for their previous band, so Mike started screaming random things into a microphone about the posters on his wall, and Zach started playing a repeated a guitar riff, while Mike's computer was recording all of this and the legend had begun. The braindead duo then went to The Garage, as they did every Friday, went back to Zach's apartment, created a Myspace profile, and then recorded two more songs on an acoustic guitar before daybreak. Ben Nichols, who has been a major influence, was kind enough to convert the two songs into mp3 format and the first of three versions of "AIM is Cool" was posted on MySpace. The duo did not run into trouble in finding a band name, Mike just blurted it out, Zach agreed, and the name stuck. For those of you that don't know, Billig is German for Cheap. They added Steffan Soulak on Keyboard, soon to be synth. John Reese, another good friend, was added on bass, because John's creativity and personality was too perfect for the project for him not to be a part of it. Mike later left the group because of complications with work. Thus leaving Olson on vocals, and Soulak and Reese with background vocals. the group had no definite singer, and no drummer, still they felt ready to approach their first show. . .
