Dr Wolf is an independent dance music producer from Cheltenham.
Why this name?
Hmmm, that's a good question I'd give it 8/10.
When I was a youth, I had lots of facial hair for my age so I was called 'wolf' by my friends.
I added the Dr part to make it sound a bit more razzmatazz.

Do you play live?
Unfortunately I don't play live currently, I just don't have the equipment, time nor the money to bring my music to a live audience :(
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
I believe the internet has the ability to destroy the current music industry while creating a new one. Whatever happens, we (the consumers) will end up getting screwed. Sounds cynical I know but its a business and profits need to be made.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, but not with this music.
Band History:
I'm a student at University and in my spare time I fire out some tunes.
The music started humbly when I was still in school, but since then it's improved greatly.
I come from a background of making remixes of the songs I liked, or simply mashing them up into a big mess (which is how they more often than not turned out!) Once I really decided to make music at a amateur level I developed my own style and I hope this is clear to see (or hear).

Your influences?
Well this is going to be long....
Firstly let me point out that there are lots of artists I like who don't really make an imprint on my tracks like The Beatles, Pink Floyd, Pulp, Oasis and Led Zeppelin.
So I'm influenced hugely by old skool dance music like The Prodigy, Pragha Khan etc, mid-90's dance music like Fatboy Slim, The Chemical Bros, Orbital, The Orb and Afx. Having those in mind, I'm currently heavily into D'n'B, especially artists from the Formation camp. I enjoy anything with lots of samples in it, probably because of being a huge Norman Cook fan, so I'd say these dancey influences led me to create a distinctly original sound, a lo-fidelity amateur cheeky style that I hope you'll like too.

Favorite spot?
The escarpment looking down on Cheltenham.
Equipment used:
I've gone for so long without any proper equipment like fruity loops etc that when I tried a demo for another programme I actually missed Wavepad. Of course I do employ other various sound editing software that I've found by tediously staring into cyberspace at 5am. This ain't no recording studio - it's a tiny flat! Oh yeh and I use microphones for when I need vocal talent.
