CORNFLOWER is a solo vocal improviser living in Ashland OR.
Having many musical influences, he blends different genres such as jazz, hip-hop, reggae, folk, alt rock and world beat making his vocal explorations a journey through the many facets of sound. Cornflower uses vocal techniques such as scat and vocal percussion (mimicking drum sounds) and an intuitive sense of timing to decipher which themes to pressure cook. Cornflower is in the middle of recording his first studio album, and plans to tour in 2006.

Having studied with 10-time Grammy Winner Bobby McFerrin and shared the stage with Scott Huckabay, the Guitar Alchemyst, his performances are not only fun and creative but are a true experience you don’t want to miss.

With his timeless, joyful, and humbling presence, Cornflower is a lighthouse in our turbulent world.
Why this name?
My name comes from many synchronic moments of Spirit guiding me to my higher calling. A young 2 year old boy first called me by this name when I was 17. Then less than a year later, a family who is not connected to the young boy also called me this name. Then years later while studying the Indigenous Heritage in the valley I was born in, I found that the leader of the Cherokee(Tselagi people) during their Golden Age was named Princess Cornflower. That sealed it in stone. It became my gateway to my higher truth, beyond the patterns and inherited infrastructure of my life within the world of separation and fear. It showed me the world of Oneness.

It has shown the Oneness of all Sound.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
