Alpine originally started when Chris Harmison was on the phone with his buddy Ian Grindstaff. Grindstaff convinced Harmison that he needs to download the Fruity Loops Demo. He didn't start making music until he met Bryan Tewell (www.myspace.com/digitalemotion), however. Tewell was his inspiration because of his up-beat electric songs. Although Harmisons' music wasn't too great at first, Tewell and Harmison made some songs such as "After Family Fest 2003". Harmison soon made "Don't Know Where I Am" and "Azul Laura," both of which are still incomplete to this day. He put those songs up on purevolume (www.purevolume.com/alpine). Soon after he took a year long break. Inspired by his girlfriend and his urning to make music, Harmison came out with "Summer Begins" after his year-long break. He hopes everyone will add him and listen to his upcoming songs. www.myspace.com/greenwoodlovesyou www.purevolume.com/greenwoodmusic www.bandspace.com/bands/1972/index.php www.myspace.com/meetthefulcrum www.fulcyou.com Help stop model-hunger. Why this name?
I think the name Alpine is appealing. Alpine is also a different tree then all other trees and my music is different then all other music. Although it is electronic, so that makes it the same to some other peoples music, no one else has done what I've done (atleast none that I've seen/heard)
Do you play live?
I would like to play live.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It makes music more accessible. You can listen to music instantly without buying a whole c.d to listen to just one song. It also helps aspiring musicians like myself get their name out there on the interet for major companies and major bands.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes, of course. I don't know who would want to sign me, this project isn't that great. If you want to sign me, however, that would be stupendous. I wouldn't have a problem with that.
