After a bottle of whiskey
Do you play live?
Uncle Lucius is fast becoming one of the most talked about bands in Austin, Texas. The "Live Music Capitol of the World" is abuzz about the roots-rock foursome that is gigging heavily at the top venues in town. They have headlined Antone's, Threadgill's World Headquarters and The Saxon Pub to name a few. Just recently Uncle Lucius packed Stubbs BBQ and have four shows at the 2007 Star Of Texas Rodeo here in Austin. Uncle Lucius is also starting to hit the road quite a bit and enjoying every moment of it.

Their high energy live shows make even the "stick in the mud" crowd stomp their feet and beg for more. With the release of their debut album, "Something They Ain't", the buzz is going to undoubtedly become a roar.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet gives musicians a chance to be heard globally that otherwise might have gone unknown. It also tells the major record labels that some bands have the potential to survive and make a decent living without them. It just happens at a slower pace and you dont get the immediate mass exposure you would with a major label. Even with that in mind, i just cant see saying no to a major label if the opportunity came our way.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
It depends on the circumstances at the time. There are some good indie labels. New West Records is one of them. Indie labels dont have the immediate mass marketing, commercial radio airplay and promotions that comes with a major label, but Oh Well.
A big part of creating music is getting people to hear your message in song. You can do that more effectively and faster with a major label.
