Marco Giaccaria seems to have a knack for creating music that doesn't sit comfortably with any musical genre: inventive music in that no man's land, betwixt rock, jazz, classical, electronic and computer musics.

Band History:
Marco Giaccaria was born in Turin in the north of Italy in 1959. His earlier musical education, having taken his diploma as a flautist, included studies in musical composition and teaching and five years studying the violin under Jorge Roberto Regio.

Marco Giaccaria has had a rich and varied experience in acoustic music and music for the theatre.

In 1992 he took a personal innovative direction in the field of creative composition with the recording and release of his CD "il mio cappello se ne e' andato" which brought him greater recognition among fellow creative musicians and composers of the genre and more importantly gained him entrance to the C.M.C. musicians cooperative in Turin.
It was with some of their number that he began to appear more on stage and at around the same time "Senza fissa dimora", an album released under the C.M.C. records label and which led him to further explore improvised music of jazz, ethnic or classical origin (such as in the case of music from North-India).
As well as playing with various Irish and Italian folk groups (Kurkuma, Kelteran), with Sharadi' (a homage to the classical music of Northern India), ESTos (music from Eastern Europe and arabian cultures) and with the Ensemble dei Suoni Residui (Early Music), Marco Giaccaria has brought a musical research project to fruition in concert form, entitled "Suoni Residui Nel Vuoto Disattento" ("Residual sounds in an inattentive vacuum" - music for flutes and computer).
New projects involve Claudio Lodati and others.
