Why this name?
Funny Story...In the 10th grade, I was still listening to cassette tapes as opposed to cds. Back then me and the group I hung with (Chopper C, Young Genius, Mr. Veito, and Tony P.) loved the "Hotboys" and all Cash Money Music. For every new CD they dropped, I was the one who provided a copy for them using cassettes. They used to ask me to "dub" an album for them. Chopper C and Genius eventually began calling me Dub, and my boy Chop added the "Z"...DUBZ
Do you play live?
I have a home recording studio where I come up with my material. I prefer my music to hit audiences ears before i perform.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
The internet combines local and nationwide audiences when dealing with music. Some artist are now being discovered over the net which is great. Maybe I'll be one of those artists.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
I would love to sign a record contract with a major label, but me, I'm not in it for the fame. I want the money. I'd rather be local and rich, than famous and broke.
Your influences?
My musical influences include the 1998 Hotboys (esp. B.G.), T.I., Field Mob, Big Nod, Ole-E, Mike Jones, D4L, Trap Squad, Vapor Roll boyz, and Dem Franchise Boys
Favorite spot?
