Teen Punk from the Chicago Metro Area

A Band based on good times. Our songs reflect the trials and tribulations of being teenagers.

Why this name?
The image of Superfri was originally a cartoon character created by Sean's Uncle Jason and Sean and the first members of the band thought what the heck it's a cool image and now a cool name.
Do you play live?
We have been playing approx. 2 shows a month at local cafes and churches.
We love to be in front of a crowd of people it is such a RUSH.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives local bands a chance at a bigger listening group, but it can also hurt a band that is trying to sell thier music and support themselves from playing live and selling CD's.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Yes It would be a great chance to do something we love and support ourselves
Band History:
Superfri was formed in March of 2002 when Sean decided he wanted to start a band . He was influenced by a local band called Short Arm Trick that he had seen many times in a multitude of small cafes, churches and even at the Ice Arena.
Kyle and Sean started playing around with the band idea with another friend and after a little while they chose to get more serious, and asked Bob to join the band.
After Bob joined the band they played together in a few backyard shows and people seemed to enjoy what they heard.
After a few of these yard shows they attended a show at the Prairie Trails Library were another local band Smith Family Reunion was playing.
Upon arriving to the show they were asked if they could play and being energetic teens they went home got their equipment and went back to play 3 or 4 songs in front of their first real audience and the fans even began to "chant one more song".
Another Local Band that was in the crowd then asked Superfri to play a show with them at Mojoe's Café in Orland Park(3STS Fotpunk band).
Superfri was then HOOKED and started working harder and started to set up shows in coffee shops with other local bands and played a battle in Oak Lawn were they tied for Second Place.
Just recently they decided to ask Ian to join Superfri to create a fuller sound and make a little change in their music style.
Ian decided that being in the band was not a good idea,so R.J. decided to take his place on stage instead of just being behind the scene as he has been since the start.
Many shows and another Second Place in Tinley Park brings us up to date
with Superfri working on their first CD and setting up more and more shows.
Well more changes hit Superfri in July
Bob left the Band and are new Bassist is John Trobe, he is a great addition
