I began playing 6 string acoustic guitar when I first went to college @ the University of South Carolina. My best friend at that time was a left-handed Strat player who had me play the 4 bar blues while he soloed.

Ive kept with it 'cause I love it. The guitars now number six and include 2 electrics and a 12 string.

Why this name?

I use the nickname my cousin gave me back in '89 and attached the word "vision" to it. This associates my own "sharky" style to the music I make.

Do you play live?

In my room.

How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?

It allows so many different sounds and voices into the air without the interference and restrictions of the record companies.

Would you sign a record contract with a major label?

Nope.

Your influences?

I started with British Rock back in the '70's, especially Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd, the Who, and Led Zep. Next came the late '70's punk with the Pistols, Jam, Clash, Cure, and Echo & the Bunnymen. In the '80's it was U2, the Minute Men, Nirvana, and Black Flag. Through all the years there was always Neil Young!!!

My guitar influences, in no special order, include Neil Young, Jeff Beck, Hendrix, Santana, Alex Liefson of Rush, Zappa, Leo Kottke, Mark Knofler of Dire Straits and the late Michael Hedges.

Favorite spot?

Big Sur, CA and Charleston, SC
