Gordon Choppie is one of the most versatile MC's to come out of Central Florida. With a style developed from many, he has created a theatrical, message sending, heartfelt flow. His mother was 8 months pregnant at a Stevie Wonder concert when she was forced to leave early to go to the hospital. December 3, 1979, Choppie was born & and he has been in love and involved with music ever since. A love for pure Hip-Hop that has grown and developed for over a decade!
Why this name?
Gordon Choppie was a name from an alter ego that developed in one of my earlier tracks, but you can hear more about that several years from now in "The Source"!
Do you play live?
Every Chance I get! I love doing state Local shows mostly but also love to travel out of state. Being on stage has to be one of my favorite parts of being an entertainer.
How, do you think, does the internet (or mp3) change the music industry?
It gives up and coming artists like myself a new venue and tool to get out to a broader range of listeners. It also is helping with getting my music to overseas markets. Something that was not possible even as little as 10 years ago. But it’s worked for me.
Would you sign a record contract with a major label?
Very much so! I am linked now with my Crew "EMS Entertainment" all we would really be looking for at this time was a distribution deal.
Band History:
As one part of "Elevated Minds" he is a lyrical soul saver. As a solo artist he is a Hip-Hop regenerator and MC slayer. Nasty with the Freestyle. As a valued member of EMS Entertainment he will prove to be an unstoppable force in the industry & to Hip-Hop music and it Culture!
Your influences?
I grew up being inspired by MC's such as Kool-G-Rap, O.C., Busta Rhymes, Souls Of Mischief, & The Beastie Boys.
